The Travelling Folk

The Travelling Folk (TTF) is a travelling folk club for West Kent and East Sussex. We don't meet regularly in one venue but gather in pre-selected pubs around the area on the first and third Thursdays of each month to enjoy ourselves and to bring folk music to those who may not have had the opportunity of experiencing a live folk session before. |

Isfield - 22-24 July 2011

This year we found we were sharing our camping field with a Caravan Club Rally and the Suzuki Owners Motor Cycle Club. We organised ourselves where we were at the top of the field where Andy had allowed us to use, once again, the handsome marquee that had been left erected after the Isfiield village fete . The Caravan Club were in the middle and the Motor Cycle Club just inside the Gate.

Our Friday evening session was colourful and full of interaction after which we repaired to the marquee to round off the evening. After the Saturday lunchtime session we had our customary walk along the river Ouse for an ice cream and then dinner was communal, but this year the weather, although not wet, necessitated using the marquee.

Our Saturday evening session was followed by cheese, biscuits and port in the after hours gathering, again in the marquee.

Sunday found Beverley and Martin successfully defending their bowls title after which we had our final session in the pub.

All in all a very happy and successful weekend, roll on next year!
