The Travelling Folk

The Travelling Folk (TTF) is a travelling folk club for West Kent and East Sussex. We don't meet regularly in one venue but gather in pre-selected pubs around the area on the first and third Thursdays of each month to enjoy ourselves and to bring folk music to those who may not have had the opportunity of experiencing a live folk session before. |

Sussex Song & Ale 7-9 July 2017

The annual Sussex Song & Ale of The Travelling Folk as always was a great success. Apart from our local regulars, it always attracts people from all over the country, and is eagerly looked forward to by many. It was good to see familiar faces, but also new people attending for the first time, and it is always gratifying to see the messages of appreciation posted by participants on Facebook etc. afterwards.

The weather was kind, allowing us to have the communal Saturday evening meal on the field in traditional fashion. There was a very wide variety of songs sung, much beer drunk, and it was possible to donate £2,000 to this year’s charity, PSPA, which works for the condition from which Maureen, Peter Collin’s wife suffers.

The weekend depends upon the joint efforts of many making contributions great and small, but Liz Randall is to be congratulated for co-ordinating the whole thing yet again, and producing a weekend of such enjoyment, for such a modest cost.
